The Botanical Collection
We’re working with botanical artist Lisa Strachan to bring her drawings to pieces made for time outdoors.
We’re starting with one: the Picnic Cooler Bag, in two prints. Botanical, local flowers in their natural colours, and Oxalis, linework in classic blue. Fifty of each, and every bag is numbered.

Signature prints
Every print begins as a painting, not a pattern file. Lisa Strachan works from live specimens: erica, brunsvigia, haemanthus, moraea. The bag is made in Cape Town around it. Two prints to begin with, and more as she paints.

Living with it
Use, and how it ages
What fits
- 01 Two bottles of wine upright, with the two Govino glasses beside them to confirm
- 02 Or a dozen cans, packed with ice to confirm
- 03 Front pocket: a corkscrew, a cloth, a small board to confirm
Use
- 01 Chill what goes in first. A cooler keeps cold, it doesn’t make it
- 02 Add ice or a frozen brick. The fuller it is, the longer it holds
- 03 Open it only when you need to. Every opening costs you cold
- 04 Keep it in shade where you can. Shade roughly doubles how long it lasts
Care and ageing
- 01 Wipe the lining with warm water and a soft cloth, and dry it fully before it goes away
- 02 Spot-clean the canvas by hand. Don’t machine wash or tumble dry it to confirm
- 03 No bleach, no solvents, no pressure hosing
- 04 The canvas will soften and the cream will warm with use. That is meant to happen
- 05 The print is applied to cloth, so no two bags are quite identical
- 06 Store it dry and open, never folded away damp
Lines marked to confirm depend on the final production dimensions and will be replaced with measured figures before the drop.
